Meet Kyler

IntCH Brush Dale's Turnin' Heads (Kyler) was born on September 7th, 2022 at Brush Dale Kennels in Iowa. Kyler's sire is Brush Dale's Anything But Average and her dam is Brush Dale's Heart Stopper. Kyler is a roan female who has rare and very unique Jungklause markings. These markings very rare that date back to one of the breeds founders. These tan markings are present on Kyler's front legs and we are excited to have these genetics and hopeful to bring out more of these markings with her future litters. Kyler is at the smaller side of the standard at 50 cm and weighing about 35 lbs.

The Huntress

Kyler is a phenomenal hunter! She is a natural! In preparation for the NAVHDA Natural Ability test, we ran her in fields as a puppy and she would range beautifully. Using her nose and tracking from the start. We started planting birds in the field at my folks house and her pointing was beautiful! It came so natural and we just honed into that natural ability and didn't push anything. She scored a 108 our of 112 at eight months old. I was confident she would have had a perfect score based on our trial run the week before. She got docked points on her track because she found horse poop on her track that distracted her as a young pup. I was still very happy with the score though as she scored perfect in everything else! And I know that she tracks beautifully. She of course had to have that fluke on test day...out of all days!

Kyler is our go to girl when it comes to an all around hunter. She finds all the birds on our pheasant and grouse hunting trips and points them beautifully. A natural retriever also. She absolutely loves water. I always say that if we lived on the lake she would never come out of the water. When we go to the lake she will swim the entire time until we leave. We are all around pleased at how great of a hunter she is even though she on the smaller side. She has a lot of power and desire!

The House Pet

Kyler is a great house dog. She has an on/off switch just like majority of this breed. If we are sitting on the couch for the day she will lay on this "perch" we made for our girls and look out the window for hours and nap on it. She also will go sleep in her crate whenever she gets tired on her own. She knows that's her safe space. She does like to play with toys so we have a basket of toys for her to rummage through and will play with them by herself or try to get one of our older girls to play with her. She is great with all humans and dogs! Always wants to go up and say hi and then move onto the next thing. She isn't much of a snuggler. If you are lucky she will lay with you but mostly she likes to sleep on that perch or her crate which we are totally fine with since our other girls like to lay on top of us.

The Homemaker

Kyler was very easy to train! We did have some issues when she first came home with peeing in the house but once we set up a routine and I got her "charged" with the clicker, things went smoothly! She is very eager to please to training her to do anything was super easy. She is as smart as a whip. She loves to play with the litters of puppies we have once they are old enough to play. We call her the best auntie because she does so well with them. We are eager to see her as a mom herself and believe she will do wonderful raising a litter!
